All the floor plan illustrations on this site are drawn approximately to scale,including the wall thicknesses which vary from app 600mm to 850mm apart from new stud walling at 75mm to 100mm. The room sizes are marked in metres,all sizes approximate.
The ground floor has two entrances,the original and oldest being at the foot of the tower.This door takes you to the spiral stone staircase that leads to the upper two stories,or the dining room on the ground floor.
On entering the building via the front door the downstairs hallway leads to;
On the right,the large kitchen/dining living area with a large carved stone fireplace fitted with a woodburner with a back boiler for central heating.There is also pantry room,and a door leading to a secondary lounge/office.
At the far end of the hall a lobby with utility room to the right,a downstairs w.c facing the hall,and a large vaulted 'cave' or wine celler to the left.
To the left of the front door is the entrance to the lounge,with a huge feature fireplace and a large fitted woodburner.From here is a door to the main dining room with the largest and oldest fireplace,and from the dining room a door to the original scullery.
